“My hair product journey started when my daughter returned home from college. She had returned home due to some health issues. After multiple hospital stays and doctor appointments, she was diagnosed with SLE Lupus. It is a manageable disease with the right care, but her body was fighting against itself. It took a little while to find the right medicines to help her — some of which had many side effects, including hair loss, weight loss, and skin issues.

As her mom and #1 supporter, my goal was to help her cope with it all and let her know we would win against this, and with God’s help, restore everything that was lost. Immediately, I went to work on the hair to create something that would stop the hair loss process and regrow healthy hair back. I am a mixologist, and I have been a licensed cosmetologist since my daughter was a year old. That is 21 years in the hair industry.

I began this journey in the lab to develop essential healing oils to repair scalp and restore hair follicles, creating my Pure Hair Growth Oil. Next, I had to find something to moisturize and eliminate dryness, so I created my own conditioner, which is my Mint Butter Deep Conditioning Mask. I first used it on my daughter, but then introduced it to my clients. I also gave it to my friends and family — they all had nothing but great things to say. The reviews were raving!

I have also recently launched my Mint Hydration Rice Water to aid and assist in strengthening hair shaft and promoting hair volume. I’ve always used different natural home care products to keep my daughter’s hair healthy, and it works! In fact, it works so well that I decided to create my product line” — Ms. Dawn’s Pure Emollients.
